Welcome to the
Fade Kings website

Formed in 1992, The Fade Kings bring a unique perspective to the Blues, Roots and R&B genre. Their early musical careers were heavily influenced by the dynamic era of the sixties and the explosion of creativity that marked this epic period. Building on these influences, these musicians have continued to evolve, constantly inspired by a vast range of musical styles.

The Fade KingsCurrently based in Prince Edward County, Ontario’s new music, arts and wine mecca, The Fade Kings have appeared at various venues throughout the Toronto region and eastern Ontario, including:

  • Limestone City Bluesfest – Kingston
  • Prince Edward County Jazz Festival
  • Loyalist End of Winter Blues Festival

While playing at the Prince Edward County Blues Festival, the Fade Kings were joined onstage by Juno Award winning sax player Richard Underhill, founder of the Shuffle Demons, and leader of Blue Rodeo's Bushwhack Horns.

The Fade Kings have built a loyal following.  CBC Radio, CFRC (Queen’s University), CKOL and CJLX (Loyalist College Radio) have all featured songs from their CD “Years to Recover”.

"The Fade Kings do anything but fade... they positively wail! A solid group of mighty fine musicians, they were a big hit with the crowd at the Limestone City Blues Festival in August 2004. This band is good! They obviously enjoy playing together, and they do it so well, producing music that you just want to get up and dance to...........I hear mixes of R&B, soul, cajun, latin, pop, funk, and jazz/blues in their CD (Years to Recover). All very well-done, all characterized by good musicianship."

Ron Dickenson, Buff Blues, CFRC-FM

"…the new offering by The Fade Kings is a welcome addition to my growing library of local music.....Years to Recover has a clean, meaty Rhythm and Blues sound that doesn't miss a note from beginning to end..... There's a good mix for everybody, from smooth, clean ballads to percussion-driven R&B and straight blues.... it makes you want to pop it in your car CD player and just drive!"

Steve Campbell, County Magazine

"Together they deliver an eclectic and unusual brand of blues rock with many twists. The tracks move from straight ahead blues to folksy traditional songs, quirky instrumentals, classic rock and R&B pop. With all four members sharing lead vocal duties, this record covers a lot of ground…"

Ken Tizzard, The Link

"This is just one of those bands you want everyone to hear! They are that good! We had very good feedback from all involved, all saying how incredibly tight the band played."

Steve Bartlett , Wingfield Farm Blues & Jazz Festival
